Summer, 2019
In partnership with La MaMa Umbria, and the SPRAR organization in Spoleto, Foligno, Perugia, and Terni, The Trojan Women Project conducted two full-day workshops with a group of twenty-five men and women coming from 7-10 different countries, including refugees from Africa and Afghanistan now living in Umbria, and community members working with the refugee population in Umbria. Workshops were conducted in Cantiere Oberdan in Spoleto and in the outdoor spaces of La MaMa Umbria.
Workshops were conducted in Italian, giving group members the opportunity to practice their new language skills. Each group member received certificates documenting their newly acquired skills as a way to validate their participation.
